Hosting a Special Lecture program

The Welcome to Korea International Club (WKIC) hosted an expert-invited lecture on Monday, June 22, 2026, at 11:00 AM in the Gukhwa Room on the 19th floor of the Korea Press Center.

Organized amidst growing global instability driven by prolonged military tensions between the United States and Iran, the lecture aimed to provide a deeper understanding of the shifting international landscape. Dr. Lee Choon-kun, President of the Academy of International Politics, served as the speaker.

Speaking on the topic "U.S. Global Strategy and Northeast Asian Security," Dr. Lee outlined the direction of U.S. global strategy and the core focus of its foreign policy within the changing international order. He also analyzed the impact of U.S. foreign policy on the geopolitical situation in Northeast Asia, including the Korean Peninsula. Notably, he captivated the audience by explaining complex international affairs and diplomatic issues in an easily accessible manner.

The event was attended by WKIC members, heads of various women's organizations, and female leaders from academia and the business sector.

The lecture was followed by a Q&A session, during which Dr. Lee provided detailed answers to a wide range of questions from the audience, offering participants a valuable opportunity to broaden their understanding of current international affairs.
