Welcome to Korea International Club held the  'Luncheon Gathering with Korean women Leaders and Spouses of Ambassadors in Korea' on June 19th from 11am to 2pm. at the National Press Club in Korea Press Center. The registration started at 10:30 am and guests and members came elegantly, some in traditional costume, and others in cocktail dress. Korean Women Leaders including  Minister of Gender Equality and Family, Hyunback Chung, Members of the National Assembly, Soonrye Kim and Insook Park, and President of the Koran National Council of Women, Keumsook Choe came along and made some congratulatory speech after the welcoming speech of Jungsook Kim, the President of WKIC. Around 120 people gathered and had a fun and interesting time together talking and sharing ideas on the social and cultural characteristics of other countries.

Her Excellencies like Difie Agyarko Kusi from Ghana, Abida Islam from Bangladesh, and Manisha Gunasekera from Sri Lanka thanked for the invitation and  introduced their specific situation regarding the issues on women  in their countries. The spouses of ambassadors in Korea like Sian Stickings from England, Kloos Favia Athena from Rumania, Ana Algabre Hernandex from the Philippines, Mah manesh Taherian from Iran, Konul Teymurova from the Azerbaijani Republic, Olga Popkova from Belarus, Joanne Lee from Australia, Beatrice Simmusa from Zambia, Porndee Lapisatepun from Thailand, and Eunju Sagurton from America were so eager to find out more about Korea and Korean culture.

The gathering was originally planned for building the human network through the cultural exchange and eventually enhancing the understanding people with different cultural background. It certainly seemed to serve the purpose beautifully! Everyone was busy talking and listening to the issues in general, and enjoyed the luncheon and the performance done by Popera Group INCIELO. Time there together seemed to lay a cornerstone toward the friendship.
